TRIBUTE

Armando M. Garcia

This page is dedicated to Armando M. Garcia, a Legendary Mentor.

Former Sr. Electrical consultant, my father Armando M. Garcia, was 'one of the greatest' in the electrical business; on and off the field. In general, my father is known as one of the best in electrical discipline. Those who knew him personally, know the impact he made went beyond his career. My father did things that not only impacted our electrical careers, but our business as a whole and community (in the United States as well as in the Philippines) as a whole. He brought the whole community into what he stood for. He had given people an opportunity to learn and have a career in the electrical field, that up until now, many of those people are enjoying their defendable jobs working worldwide. He really was larger than life. He was a business owner of AG Electrical Builders & Constructors, Philippines and AG Electric, U.S.A. He worked as an Electrical Supervisor for American Pacific Architech, where he was directly responsible in the power generation & restoration for U.S. Army Installation during the 1966 to 1974: U.S. - Vietnam War. He had also contributed his talent as an Electrical Superintendent, employed by Brown & Root, S.A. and Bechtel International for the Gas and Oil Production Construction - Onshore & Offshore from 1974 to 1984, in variuos locations such as Saudi Arabia, Manama Bahrain, Algeria, Indonesia, and other countries worldwide. But he was also a teacher and for many, including myself, a Mentor. My father was a tremendous mentor for many, many of us. He was so good for me as a young electrical trainee. I remember even as a trainee, my father saying, "Electrical is a good trade, you find something you do that you love and you'll never work again in your life." It was so true for me. In part of what he meant to me, I found something I was passionate about, and he was true. What he said came to bear.

A Tribute to my father, my Mentor.
